IELTS
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is one of the world's most widely accepted English language proficiency tests for studying, working, and migrating abroad.
Overview
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a globally recognized English language proficiency examination designed to assess the language skills of individuals who wish to study, work, or migrate to English-speaking countries. It evaluates a candidate's ability to communicate effectively in real-life situations through four key language skills: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
IELTS is jointly managed by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, and Cambridge Assessment English. The test is accepted by more than 12,500 organizations worldwide, including universities, employers, professional bodies, and immigration authorities.
There are two versions of the IELTS exam:
• IELTS Academic – Intended for students applying to universities and higher education institutions.
• IELTS General Training – Designed for individuals planning to work, undergo training, or migrate to countries such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.
The test is available in both computer-delivered and paper-based formats. Results are reported on a Band Score scale ranging from 0 to 9, with most universities requiring an overall score between 6.0 and 7.5 depending on the course and institution.
